Mary Buffett on “The Tao of Warren Buffet.”

A collection of pithy and inspiring sayings from America’s favorite businessman that reveal his secrets of success.

Like the sayings of the ancient Chinese philospher Lao-tzu, Warren Buffett’s worldly wisdom is deceptively simple and enormously powerful in application. In “The Tao of Warren Buffett,” Mary Buffett - author of three books on Warren Buffett’s investment methods - joins noted Buffettologist and international lecturer David Clark to bring you Warren Buffett’s smartest, funniest, and most memorable sayings with an eye toward revealing the life philosophy and the investment strategies that have made Warren Buffett, and the shareholders of Berkshire Hathaway, so enormously wealthy.

Warren Buffett’s investment achievements are unparalleled. He owes his success to hard work, integrity, and that most elusive commodity of all, common sense. The quotations in this book exemplify Warren’s practical strategies and provide useful illustrations for every investor - large or small - and models everyone can follow. The quotes are culled from a variety of sources, including personal conversations, corporate reports, profiles, and interviews. The authors provide short explanations for each quote and use examples from Buffett’s own business transactions whenever possible to illustrate his words at work. - Books Inc.

She humping for a buck since she was inside their living room for a few years.

She can tell us a few stories about what happened around the Christmas tree– and not much more.

She’s trying to exploit her past position. Not much to exploit.

Look forward, if you want to win, and feed one good idea a year to Mr. Buffett.

And if he takes it you will earn a large commission.

    That’s what I do.

    Cheers,
    Warren Currier / Boston

What has Warren Buffett said about “Mary Buffett” publicly? Surely he has commented on her and the books. I looked at a list of books he has recommended and her books are not even on it.

That is the opposite of what warren would do. Everyone is trying to make money on the “next big thing” and he will stick to making money off of a paint company or a shoe company. By the way a lot of the companies that make the hybrid vehicles (Ford GM) will also be a thing of the past 100 years from now.

for sure ready his letters was an education for me– and I too find her somewhat irritating, as i see others here do too.

that said however, i did learn from reading her book (one of the– perhaps, two). i learned the importance of going to the source, eg, i do not need to hear her tell me what the ovarian lottery is, when warren has.

but your comment on her saying that ‘20% return is easy’ may be related to the fact the he did something like average 23% for forty years

  24. Anonymous Says:

    hahahha she does seem drunk

    ‘jedarama’

i have not ’sold’ him anything.

but, that he has written an offer to me is enough to know that i was ‘doing my homework’ well enough.

i will not disclose any details– as it is private business of his.

warren taught me (through public, open-source material) about holding secrets, and building trust.

    thanks.
